about

Melbourne groove makers That Gold Street Sound are
releasing the second single, Rain, from their forthcoming
long-player, Trick Of The Light, which is due for release
early 2019. A follow on their first single Only Lonely, which
hit the airwaves back in August, Rain is a gorgeous soulful
track that showcases what audiences can expect from the
band’s debut album. Featuring a 15-piece guest choir, the
track is uplifting, rapturous and builds a feeling of hope
within the music and vocals.

lyrics

RAIN
I don’t know but I’ve been told
That hot is hot because of cold
And up is up because of down
And flood is flood because of drought

I am just like the earth
That’s dry so long the rain won’t work
The water will run right off my back
I hope that some will soak up through the cracks

When it rains it pours
You never really know what you’re in for

People they like to complain
When the sun is out they wish for rain
And when it rains they wish for sun
No matter what we got we want the other one

When it rains it pours
You never really know what you’re in for

It’s really coming, really coming down now

I don’t know but it’s what they say
When the sun’s out you should make hay
You should make the most of what you got
It doesn’t matter if it’s little or a lot

When it rains it pours
You never really know what you’re in for

It’s really coming, really coming down now
